The University of Minnesota today announced the launch of its AI Hub, a University-wide initiative to advance artificial intelligence innovation, education and workforce development across Minnesota. Building on decades of leadership in computing and data science, the AI Hub will serve as the University’s central engine for AI strategy and impact — aligning education, research and external partnerships under a cohesive strategy. “Minnesota helped build the foundations of modern computing — and that legacy propels our leadership in AI today,” said Rebecca Cunningham, University of Minnesota president. “From our early supercomputing breakthroughs and the pioneering Gopher protocol that laid the groundwork for today’s internet to nationally recognized interdisciplinary research, the University of Minnesota has consistently turned frontier technology into public good.
