About Us
GEOSPACE is a Minneapolis-based startup focused on acquiring, transforming, and applying 3D data for the real estate industry. We develop technology that understands the geometric structure of the built environment, converting raw point clouds into structured models.
The Role
We seek a senior data scientist to join our team as a core technical contributor. This role involves tackling complex problems in our pipeline, including structural reasoning over 3D data and graph neural networks.
What You'll Do
- Architect and refine AI/ML pipelines that transform unstructured point cloud data into meaningful representations.
- Design and develop ML models, including graph neural networks for structural and spatial reasoning over 3D data.
- Explore and implement agentic AI capabilities that enhance automation and decision-making across our platform.
- Collaborate on computer vision approaches for feature extraction, classification, and validation of architectural elements.
- Lead experimentation by defining hypotheses, designing tests, and driving measurable outcomes.
- Contribute creative ideas and novel approaches to challenges in 3D understanding and spatial AI.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning.
- Strong background in graph neural networks (GNNs) with hands-on experience designing and training models.
- Proficiency in Python with deep experience in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent).
- Experience with experiment tracking, model evaluation, and reproducible research practices.
- Comfort working with 3D data, point clouds, or computational geometry.
- Computer vision experience is a strong plus.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
Who You Are
- Self-starting and proactive.
- Enthusiastic and energetic.
- Creative and willing to propose unconventional approaches.
- An owner who manages their own work and communicates progress.
- Collaborative and engages openly with the team.
